@arayni yes you can...press F7 navigate to current entities and select the object that you want to select...for example if you cant select a fence entity, use this method and scroll through the objects until you find it. If you have many of the same objects, you can rename them to make it easier to locate.

To get into the locked rooms just walk into the door :)
