@roccowtw Did you make the changes in the ini file or in game? You need to make the change in the ini file. Open up the ini using Notepad++ and scroll down to the "EnableSnow" line, just type "snow" to find it, once you find it change the value to "1" then save. You should be able to see snow on the ground once you relaunch your game, if you still don't see snow on the ground then maybe you have either the gta 5 patch that did not allowed snow on the ground or a "pirated" version. There was a version that for some reason you couldn't add snow to the ground regardless of what trainer you had but I forgot what version was it. Also, if you have a "pirated" version of gta 5 that you downloaded somewhere, that might also be a problem.
@roccowtw If you have "Simple Trainer" you can lock in the snow in the ini so next time you go back in the game it'll be snowing. There's also a really good mod that I use that not only does it automatically saves and loads your last position, health, weapons, money, clothing but it also saves your last in-game time and weather, it's called "Last Location" by FLareXll > https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/last-location
@roccowtw I've being working on an update for this on and off throughout the year but I've being encountering a lot of issues. One of the problems I've being having relates to texture issues. For example, when I attach snow patches to some cars the color of the car cannot be changed in game, other cars that have skins or ads, their ads disappear then I have to change the title of their ytd's to something like "vehicle_genericmud_car" or something like that in order for the skin to show up in game. Sometimes the wheels of some cars just disappear when I attach snow to it. It's just a very tedious and time consuming process plus on top of that, Rockstar keeps updating the game and adding even more cars.
Other problems have to do with performance. I have three different laptops I tests my mods with, I have a low end, mid end and a high end laptop. Thus far I've tested this mod at 90% completion and I can tell you right now it will not work for anybody that has a low or mid end gaming pc. It will cause a whole bunch of issues if you have a low/mid end pc. Issues such as low fps, seeing patches of snow detached from the cars floating up in mid air in the distance, seeing cars disappear in the distance with only the peds visible, they look like they're driving with invisible cars, very weird stuff. So that said, the update for this mod, once completed, will only work if you have a high end pc that can handle it.
Anyways, like I said, I'm still working on it, I haven't abandoned this mod it's just that it's very difficult to complete.
@nep nep Can you be more specific about this script? Does this prevents a wanted star from activating if you get into a fight with a ped? Is that what this script does? And, if that's what it does, does the script activates automatically in game?
@MNHC I was just about to ask you what's the difference between yours and FlareXll's mod but I see that ReNNie just asked you that but, still what are the supposed bugs you noticed with FlareXll's? I already have FlareXll's mod installed but, if yours offer other features that his doesn't have then I'll install this one instead but, I need to know what though
@Alex106 I got a question about the MapFixes.cs file, the one that goes in 'scripts'.....since we're now using the ScriptHookVDotNet's "nightly" versions......should I add .2 or .3 before the extension of the file? MapFixes.2.cs or MapFixes.3.cs?
@JonasTechnik Ok thanks, I got one more question for you, does the same rule applies as the previous LCBuffalo's version with the TimeScale values where the smaller the number the longer either the day or night is, depending on which one you want to be longer?
@adopcalipt A couple missions don't seem to be working properly, specially the "HappyShopper" and the "BugStars" mission.
In the "HappyShopper" mission, sometimes the store is closed for some reason and I can't get in. I have to use the "Go Thru Doors" feature in Simple Trainer in order to get inside, once I'm inside the guy is not even there. Obviously I can finish the mission quickly since the guy is not there but once I pass the mission I have to again, use the "Go Thru Doors" feature in order to get out of the store. By the way, I don't have EAI installed, some times the EAI mod causes issues like that but, I don't have it installed. Here's a demo of what's happening with that mission sometimes > https://vimeo.com/1043312597?share=copy#t=0
The "BugStars" mission is even more messed up, once I begin the mission I'm able to pick up most of the vermins without any issues the problem starts towards the end of the mission when there's only a few left to pick up. For some reason I start picking 'em up and the count on the bottom right resets back to zero so I'm never able to pick 'em all up also, when I'm doing the one with the pigeons, sometimes there's one pigeon outside of the building, for some reason, as you can see in the demo video, so is impossible to kill him because it shows up outside of the building and I can't exit the building until I pick up 5 vermins in order for the yellow exit marker to show up, but, since I can't pick up the last ones I'm stuck inside the building and can't never finish the mission > https://vimeo.com/1043313051?share=copy
There's another weird thing happening with the "Sharks" mission, it only happens when I have to kill 'em around the port of Los Santos industrial area. Sometimes the last shark ends up embedded inside one of the cement blocks and you can't kill him. You barely see its tail sticking out. I tried to release the bomb as close as possible to the shark but, when I detonate the bomb I'm the one that get blown up because I'm too close to the bomb. Like I said, this has happened a couple of times and it only happens when the mission spawns around that industrial area of Los Santos.
@sjaak327 For some reason vehicles are not leaving tracks in the snow. I got snow turned on in the game and the following values are set to "1" in the ini but the vehicles are not leaving tracks.
VehicleTracks=1 //Enable Vehicle Tracks for Snow
VehicleTrackDepth=1 //Enable Deep Vehicle Tracks for Snow
What's your opinion on that?
@FlareXll For some reason this script is not working properly on my end. Whenever I exit the game and launch back on whatever skin the character I was using previously had on doesn't show. The characters spawn with those crappy default outfits. I took a look at the ini and it seems as if it is saving the data correctly, see pic here > https://imgur.com/a/OIFycbO but, it's not applying it on relaunch.
I do have two other mods that may or may not conflict with this one but, I'm not sure....you tell me if these mods have the potential to conflict with yours:
- " Custom Player-Spawning" > https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/spawn-where-you-died . There is a section in this mod's ini file that has to do with skin persistence. There's one line "player_ped_skin_upon_respawn" which I have the value set at "3". 3 means that the last used skin will be used upon respawn after game loading, stored in "stored_last_used_skin". So should I set that to zero? Here's a picture of that section > https://imgur.com/gfYHjMV
- Another mod that I have installed that may or may not conflict is this one "No Death Skin Reset 1.2 Busted" > https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/no-death-skin-reset . This script keeps the skin and clothes persistence for main characters and MP peds after dying instead of respawning with default clothing. This mod only keeps the skin persistent after death, not after you exit the game and relaunch it, there's no ini file associated with this mod though.
So what's your opinion on all this, how can I make this mod work properly?
