Glowing pickups from GTA IV have come back to GTA V!
You can adjust glowing range and intensity multipliers unlike GTA IV!
Requirements
Script Hook V
Script Hook V .NET >= 3.6.0
Visual C++ Redistributable 2019 x64
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8
About
This script gives pickups the ability to glow with certain color, just like in GTA IV.
This will help you find pickups, especially in the dark.
Installation
Simply put GlowingPickup.dll into your scripts folder or a subdirectory of it.
Note that the setting file GlowingPickup.xml will be created when it's not found in the same directory.
Note
- Currently, this mod doesn't have custom glowing color, range, and intensity settings for individual pickups, but you can edit these settings by editing pickups.meta or some mods like Immersive Pickups.

Old releases: GitHub Releases
Latest build: AppVeyor Artifacts (can be unstable)
Changelog
1.1.1
Added support all of the game versions prior to (probably) b757 again, which v1.0.3 supports
1.1.0
Updated for b2802 or later game versions. Now reads pickup configs on b2802 or later game versions properly.
Improved future proof for pickup configs of pickups.meta by introducing memory scanning
Fixed weird random game crash when reading pickup data values
Renamed ShadowMultiplier of the setting xml to FalloffExponent and Halved the default value of FalloffExponent (now 2.5) since the last (9th) parameter of DRAW_LIGHT_WITH_RANGEEX actually takes a falloff exponent (and darkIntensity in pickups.meta is irrelevant). To correct the old value
FalloffExponent (previously ShadowMultiplier), put the halved value.
Updated SHVDN dependency to v3.6.0. Changed the dependency of Visual C++ redistributable to 2019 or later and target framework of .NET to 4.8 as a result.
1.0.3
Update for v1.0.1604.0
Change target framework (of .NET) to 4.7.2
1.0.2
Improve future-update-proof (now supports 1.0.1365.1)
1.0.1
Fixed throw exception instead of reading or creating the setting xml in some cases
1.0
First public release

@kagikn Doesn't seem to work anymore. I mean, the glows are way to bright. Game crashes when there are too many dropped weapons/cash. The colors are wrong, sometimes I see Cash has Orange, Weapons have Green.
@Pyri The CObject structure got changed in the latest version and that's why this mod doesn't work properly in the latest version. Will fix the problem soon.
@kagikn Oh, Ok. Take your time updating man, I would love to use this. I will remove the rating for now.Take care.
@Pyri I'm a collaborator of SHVDN and I have permission to release new version of it, so I need to update it and release new version of it too. Let me update SHVDN first, and I'll update this script.
@kagikn Ok, no problem. Take the time, I am in no way of rushing you to do the update. Night lad. (It's almost 11PM)
@kagikn Nice. ETA on the update if you don't mind?
@kagikn In the new update, can you also disable the base weapon glow, you know how the weapon pickups would glow white in a breathing manner? Maybe an option in the XML to disable that, while still having the weapon lights/glow this mod adds work
@Stryfaar I'm not sure how to disable the default white glow, so I need to find a way to do that first. This time I only added the support for v1.0.1604.0 because I was in a hurry.
I think I can improve SHVDN's performance way more and I want to do if possible, so don't expect your suggestion will realize soon.
I updated this script for v1.0.1604.0. This time I changed the requirement of .NET Framework to 4.7.2, since the requirement for SHVDN will be changed in the next version (Visual C++ 2013 to 2017, and .NET Framework 4.5.2 to 4.7.2, but these aren't breaking changes). Upgrade your .NET Framework if you need to do.
Very good idea, and by the screenshots, it looks like it works well. I might give it a try soon.
@kagikn Good to have yall back
Try:
-RangeMultiplier set to 0.5
-LightIntensityMultiplier set to 15
-ShadowMultiplier set to 10
It makes them look a little better.
@kagikn conflicts with https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/no-more-money-pickups-net?
Thanks brother.love u dude.respect.have a next update for more increase pickup glow with mix vc pickups😉.and good luck.i really appreciate that........😎❤️🤭
no way you updates this... we needed this !! THANKS A LOT MATE!! <3
idea great but does not work ? gameversion 2175.
can you please include version 2175 at least by the new version ? we need this version because of 5real/larevo ...
@MadTherseus No such game version like 2175 exists, but I'll update this script since the memory pattern v1.1 uses does not find the offset in all game versions (finds the offset in v791 or later at least). v1.1.1 will also support versions prior to v757 (probably, Bikers), where bunch of pickup natives are added.
is there a way to make pickups glow a bit more brighter or in a different way? because they glow fine at night, but during daytime the glow is basically non-existent (just the slight glow on reflective surfaces nearby)
Not working in 2024
