🚨 **Announcement: Dynamic NPC Density Adjuster 2.0 is Now Live!** 🚨
We’re excited to announce the official release of **Dynamic NPC Density Adjuster 2.0**! 🎉 This new version comes with a range of new features, offering even more control and customization for your in-game experience. Here’s what’s new:
### ✨ **Version 2.0 Key Features:**
- **Configurable NPC and vehicle density via config.ini**: Now you can adjust density settings based on the time of day and whether it’s a weekday or weekend, all through a simple config.ini file.
- **Custom Time Ranges**: Easily set different density levels for morning rush hours, mid-day traffic, evening crowds, and more! Configure your density preferences for specific time blocks.
- **Smooth Transitions**: Enjoy a more immersive gameplay experience with smoother transitions between densities at different times of the day.
### 🔧 **Important Installation Instructions:**
If you’ve previously installed version 1.0, please follow these steps carefully:
1. **Delete the old files**: Make sure to remove `DynamicNPCDensityAdjuster.dll` and `DynamicNPCDensityAdjuster.pdb` from your `Scripts` folder. This is crucial, as version 1.0 and 2.0 are independent mods and cannot run together.
2. **Install version 2.0 files**:
- Add `DynamicNPCDensityAdjusterWithConf.dll`, `DynamicNPCDensityAdjusterWithConf.pdb`, and the `DynamicNPCDensityAdjusterWithConf` folder (which contains the config.ini) to your `Scripts` folder in the GTA V directory.
### ⚙️ **How to Use**:
Once installed, you can edit the config.ini file to customize the NPC and vehicle density for different times of day and week. The mod will automatically adjust these settings as you play, giving you full control over the in-game population and traffic.
---
**Upgrade now and take your gameplay to the next level with more realism and flexibility!**
Can you add a changelog into the description as well?
I just started modding and was about to install multiple solutions for what this mod handles. While those other mods are excellent, this is definitely a far more user friendly option. Thanks!
@3DIYOriginal Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m really glad to hear that you’re enjoying the mod. Your support means a lot, and it motivates me to keep improving it.
@Zeitkrieg I’m glad to hear you find the mod helpful, especially as someone new to modding! The goal was to make it as user friendly as possible while still offering customization. Let me know if you have any ideas or need help with anything else! Happy modding!
@JonJonGames Sure ! I'll update this as soon as I can. Thanks for your remind 😄
@TheChun Thank yooooou so much bro, been waiting a long time for someone to make an actual good mod about npc density on time related, and you did it, you're the GOAT! Looking forward to your next project :)
@nooTy- Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad to hear that you're enjoying the mod and that it meets your expectations 😄
The values set in the config.ini are supposed to work as a multiplier on top of our own game settings, or does it override it using what the config has?
Can you make one for animals ?
im interested in aquatic life
@Box Oh that's a good point ! This mod directly overrides the in-game density settings based on what you define in the config.ini file. So, if you set the density to 0.1, you'll notice a very sparse population of both NPCs and vehicles. It doesn’t stack with your existing game settings but completely replaces them during the configured time periods.
@pabibabum That's a very interesting idea! I haven't worked with animal or aquatic life density before, but I can definitely give it a try. Stay tuned! 😊
@TheChun thank you, there are very small amount of animals in the game and fish în the ocean
Incredible mod. I have no complaints and I can't wait to see what you bring next!
@TheChun Man, if I can stop the annoying 'obligatory spawns' on those back roads where there would be nobody like the 'broken bridge road' in Paleto and the 'Lighthouse Fishing Village' road in Blaine County, that would be great!
@Hujan Thank you so much for your kind words!
@iammistahwolf That's a really interesting idea too! I share your thoughts on this, and I believe this could be a great feature to explore for future development. Thanks for the suggestion !
@TheChun you're welcome. Hope you figure that out. That and stop cops spawning from 'dead end' roads like there are full police 'precincts' there waiting!
@iammistahwolf That's another great suggestion! The issue with cops spawning in unlikely locations is definitely something worth looking into. I'll see if there's a way to address that in future updates. Thanks for pointing it out!
@TheChun Regarding the vanilla density setting being overwritten, what number in the mod settings represents the vanilla density set to max? Just looking for a point of reference so I can compare mod settings with game settings to finely tune game performance. Thanks!
@quabity_assurance That's a great question! In this mod, a density value of around 1.0 is close to the vanilla game's maximum density setting. If you're looking to compare or finely tune, I would recommend starting with that as a reference point and adjusting upwards or downwards depending on the specific performance and gameplay feel you're aiming for. Thanks for reaching out!
@TheChun, The 'issue' with cop spawning is they do it in a 'circle' around the character. The way the game is set up, they automatically spawn in an 'x= number diameter circle' no matter where you are. That's why hordes of police units come pouring out of dead-end roads. After '3 stars', it's no longer a 'pursuit' but an 'enclosure'. That plays fine on the highway or city. It takes any potential 'realism' out of police chases hence players having to do silly stuff like 'driving a sports car up a mountain.' Though it is fun as there's a certain path on Mt. Chiliad where you can get the cops to come at you down the mountain. It's ridiculous, but hilarious!
