🚨 **Announcement: Dynamic NPC Density Adjuster 3.0 is Now Live!** 🚨
Dear players,
On December 10th, GTA V received its winter dlc update, which might have caused compatibility issues with my *Dynamic NPC Density Adjuster* mod. To address this, I have released an updated version (v3.0) with necessary fixes. If you are currently using v2.0 and encounter any problems or functionality issues, please update to v3.0. Thank you for your understanding and support!
Additionally, I would like to apologize to everyone who has shared their valuable ideas and feedback. Due to my ongoing master's studies and a busy work schedule, I haven't had much time to dedicate to mod development recently. I deeply appreciate all the suggestions and input from players, and I will be reflecting on how to manage my time more effectively.
For now, my primary focus will be maintaining *Dynamic NPC Density Adjuster* and attending to my academic and professional responsibilities. Until all of things have stabilized, I will resume work on the next mod project.
Thank you again for your support and understanding!
Best regards,
*TheChun*
@Box Oh that's a good point ! This mod directly overrides the in-game density settings based on what you define in the config.ini file. So, if you set the density to 0.1, you'll notice a very sparse population of both NPCs and vehicles. It doesn’t stack with your existing game settings but completely replaces them during the configured time periods.
@pabibabum That's a very interesting idea! I haven't worked with animal or aquatic life density before, but I can definitely give it a try. Stay tuned! 😊
@TheChun thank you, there are very small amount of animals in the game and fish în the ocean
Incredible mod. I have no complaints and I can't wait to see what you bring next!
@TheChun Man, if I can stop the annoying 'obligatory spawns' on those back roads where there would be nobody like the 'broken bridge road' in Paleto and the 'Lighthouse Fishing Village' road in Blaine County, that would be great!
@Hujan Thank you so much for your kind words!
@iammistahwolf That's a really interesting idea too! I share your thoughts on this, and I believe this could be a great feature to explore for future development. Thanks for the suggestion !
@TheChun you're welcome. Hope you figure that out. That and stop cops spawning from 'dead end' roads like there are full police 'precincts' there waiting!
@iammistahwolf That's another great suggestion! The issue with cops spawning in unlikely locations is definitely something worth looking into. I'll see if there's a way to address that in future updates. Thanks for pointing it out!
@TheChun Regarding the vanilla density setting being overwritten, what number in the mod settings represents the vanilla density set to max? Just looking for a point of reference so I can compare mod settings with game settings to finely tune game performance. Thanks!
@quabity_assurance That's a great question! In this mod, a density value of around 1.0 is close to the vanilla game's maximum density setting. If you're looking to compare or finely tune, I would recommend starting with that as a reference point and adjusting upwards or downwards depending on the specific performance and gameplay feel you're aiming for. Thanks for reaching out!
@TheChun, The 'issue' with cop spawning is they do it in a 'circle' around the character. The way the game is set up, they automatically spawn in an 'x= number diameter circle' no matter where you are. That's why hordes of police units come pouring out of dead-end roads. After '3 stars', it's no longer a 'pursuit' but an 'enclosure'. That plays fine on the highway or city. It takes any potential 'realism' out of police chases hence players having to do silly stuff like 'driving a sports car up a mountain.' Though it is fun as there's a certain path on Mt. Chiliad where you can get the cops to come at you down the mountain. It's ridiculous, but hilarious!
@TheChun Hey, looks cool. May I ask what was new in v3.0?
@Michael21107 Thank you for your feedback! 😊
To clarify, there were no new features added in v3.0. The update was necessary because I always test the mod's functionality whenever GTA V receives an update. During the testing for the latest GTA V patch, I noticed that the mod was no longer working as intended. So, I rewrote and fixed the code to ensure compatibility and proper functionality in the new version of the game.
Thanks again for your interest, and I hope you enjoy the mod! Let me know if you encounter any issues.
@TheChun I sure will. Thanks mate.
this one lookes very interesting. i also like to play as a cop in lspdfr and crowded streets at party nights sound great. more density at lunch time is also a thing. since there is no extra time for middays definied in the .ini is it possible to set a new "event" and duration manually for lunch breaks? wait, i just found the answer. gonna try it out now.
does it increase even more in the city?
@Gelse Thank you for your kind words and interest in the mod! 😊
@JohnFiggle23 Thank you for your great point! This is actually a feature I’m currently working on — adjusting density based on the area. However, at the moment, the mod only supports density adjustments based on time, without distinguishing between regions. Area-specific density adjustments are still under development, and I hope to include them in a future update! 😊
